ParaFlare is proud to add Marcus Thompson and Mandy Ross' expertise to the board, which includes David Fairman, experienced CISO and CIO; Adam McCarthy, ParaFlare co-founder and CEO; David Wakely, experienced CEO and executive coach; and Alex Hone, an experienced finance executive.

Dr Thompson retired from the Australian Army in 2020 after a 34-year career which included a variety of command, regimental and special operations appointments. His final role was as the first head of Information Warfare for the Australian Defence Force. He is moving onto the board after working with ParaFlare as the chief strategy adviser since 2020.

"We continue to see an alarming increase in cyber attacks against Australian businesses and interests.

"As this trend continues, I want every Australian business and organisation to be actively thinking about their cyber security," Thompson said.

Highly motivated by the pace of all things cyber, digital and tech, Ross brings over 20 years' experience in digital business, transformation, contemporary technology operating models across the travel, education, gaming, retail and consulting industries.

"ParaFlare, as a sovereign Australian business with a deep heritage in the Australian Defence Force, is uniquely positioned to defend and empower their customers.

"The human-centred approach, combined with the team's tech and cyber know-how, were compelling reasons for me to join the board.

"I am always learning from my teams and industry peers, and genuinely get a kick out of helping organisations to become future-fit, to manage the risk that comes with digital transformation and digital business models, and ultimately to deliver commercial outcomes," Ross said.

Thompson added that ParaFlare's speciality in active cyber defence is a key aspect in sovereign capability.

"Highly-trained cyber operators seek out, contain and eliminate threats that make it past a businesses' first line of defence.

"This is a sovereign Australian capability built by national security experts, and one I’m proud to be part of," Thompson concluded.
