A darknet child sexual abuse material image-sharing service has been allegedly hacked by Anonymous.
Anonymous is an infamous activist collective known for its hacktivism and is largely synonymous with the Guy Fawkes mask. It typically takes on government institutions, criminal organisations, major corporations and more, and are seen by many as digital Robin Hoods, while others deem them a criminal group.
The group claims to have seized control of the servers of P*doBum, which is used by child abusers for sharing CSAM images.
Anonymous’ operation, #OpP*doBum, began on 29 June and has resulted in the darknet site displaying a confessional video from the group rather than pornographic content.
“[P*dophiles] of the world, we are Anonymous,” the video said.
“On behalf of every victim of child abuse we have taken over this site.
“We have seized the server and copied the user data. Sent it all to law enforcement.”
#Anonymous has claimed responsibility for taking down the darknet platform PedoBum, used for sharing child pornography.

The video continues on, calling the site’s admin a “clown” who “made it easy” to access evidence of users sharing child porn. According to media reports, Anonymous identified the use of JavaScript on the site, allowing users to be potentially identified.
Media has also reported that Anonymous also seized control of the link exchange platform Yet Another Topic Links (YATL), a site that disguises itself as an adult porn online store but is set up to scam its customers.
Users attempting to access YATL are unable to access the site’s content but are instead greeted with the Anonymous confessional video.
