Homegrown security company archTIS has been awarded a lucrative contract by one of Australia’s biggest prime defence contractors, BAE Systems Australia.

Specifically, archTIS will be building a product demonstrator for BAE Systems Maritime Australia, aimed at showcasing and building a platform that can handle need-to-know access provisioning as well as multiple datasets.

The data-centric demonstrator will use archTIS software and should be delivered by the end of the year as part of a $528,000 contract.

archTIS managing director Daniel Lai is keen to show off the company’s technology to BAE.

“This is our first opportunity to work and demonstrate our capabilities with Australia’s largest defence prime, BAE Systems Australia,” Lai said in a statement. “I am pleased that our unique value proposition, secure sharing and collaboration of data has been recognised by BAE Systems Australia in trusting us with this deliverable.

“Securely sharing and collaborating on sensitive information is one of the major challenges that Industry 4.0 needs to resolve to unlock the benefits that digital technologies can bring to the manufacturing industry, especially in the defence industry.”

archTIS’ product demonstrator will contribute to BAE Systems Maritime Australia’s goal of “digitising the Australian Defence shipbuilding process”.
