The global cyber security firm has committed to expanding its network across Australia and New Zealand in a bid to bolster access to its products and services.
Dragos — a global firm that provides cyber security offerings for industrial controls systems (ICS)/operational technology (OT) environments — has announced a move to expand its presence in Australia and New Zealand.
The company has opened a regional headquarters in Melbourne and is expected to ramp up its network throughout 2021, in an effort to broaden the reach of its products and services.
“The convergence of an increasingly ICS-aware and capable threat landscape with the trend towards more network connectivity presents industrial organisations with a set of cyber security challenges that are truly global in nature,” Robert Lee, CEO and co-founder of Dragos, said.
“Our expansion into the Australia and New Zealand markets will enable us to not just better partner with companies in the region to ensure that they are successful in their industrial cyber security journey, but also to help foster the local ICS/OT cyber security practitioner community through ongoing education and engagement.”
The company has also secured Series C funding from former Australian prime minister Malcolm Turnbull’s investment company, Turnbull & Partners.
Dragos has said it would use part of the funds to accelerate the next stage of its global operations.
“The cyber threat to operational technology has never been greater than it is today,” Turnbull said.
“We face many challenges in defending Australia and New Zealand’s large, complex industries from these threats.
“We chose to invest in Dragos because it is providing world-leading industrial cyber security expertise and technology at a time when vital industries are being challenged more than ever.”
