Global cyber security provider Palo Alto Networks has announced the launch of its Prisma SASE 3.0, a new tool that extends zero trust to both managed and unmanaged devices.
The company has boasted that the tool includes the first natively integrated enterprise browser and also offers artificial intelligence-powered data security and app acceleration to enhance performance.
The Prisma Access Browser provides zero trust to unmanaged devices, including third parties and contractors who use their personal devices in a workspace.
The company has explained that the Prisma SASE 3.0 will enable IT professionals to monitor and mitigate threats that face those employees in real time.
The tool also includes Palo Alto’s AI-powered data security. Already, the company’s AI-enabled capabilities identify up to 2.3 million new and unique attacks every day. While the new Prisma SASE 3.0 will leverage software as a service (SaaS), generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) and cloud applications are expected to further enable growth while securing sensitive data.
Prisma is also expected to enhance app performance, allowing endpoint applications to directly access the internet. It has confirmed that it is working alongside Amazon Web Services, Slack, ServiceNow, Google, Zoom, and SAP to enhance app performance.
Anand Oswal, senior vice-president and general manager of network security at Palo Alto Networks, explained that the product fills a large gap in the market.
"Prisma SASE 3.0 is upending existing security approaches to close security gaps and address access challenges,” Oswal said.
“The problem of securing unmanaged devices can not be understated, nor can the benefits of App Acceleration and data classification accuracy.
“We took an already industry-leading SASE solution and layered in the transformational capabilities to secure access for the modern enterprise.”
The application has been welcomed by tech providers.
“At Slack, we know it’s important for users to be able to get the right information whenever they need it, which is why we’re taking a collaborative approach to delivering an AI-powered platform for work,” Milena Talavera, SVP of software engineering at Slack, said.
“When joint customers integrate Palo Alto Networks’ Application Acceleration technology with Slack, they can gain a significant performance boost and dramatically reduced file download time, while prioritising security.
“We look forward to seeing how this integration enables users to save time and be more productive throughout their workday.”
