The acquisition comes as Spirit Technologies’ cyber security business unit Infotrust merged with Intalock to create a combined security operations centre.

Forensic IT provides digital forensic cyber security services, including courtroom analysis and cyber incident response.

Spirit expects that the acquisition will broaden the group’s defensive cyber security services, bringing together 115 cyber experts across both organisations.

The acquisition is scheduled to be completed in October.

The expansion of Spirit’s end-to-end cyber security services will help the group protect its clients amid the increasing sophistication of cyber attacks, said Julian Challingsworth, managing director of Spirit Group.

“This acquisition aligns well with our strategy to enhance our service offerings and provide our clients with a robust, end-to-end cyber security solution.

“With the increasing frequency and sophistication of cyber attacks, our expanded capabilities will allow us to better safeguard our customers’ digital assets, ensuring resilience and continuity in the face of any cyber incident.”

The acquisition will help Forensic IT help a greater number of clients uncover the truth in challenging situations, Luke McCarthy, owner of Forensic IT, outlined.

“Being acquired for our incident response and digital forensic capabilities is a testament to the expertise and dedication of our team. It’s not just about the technology we’ve leverage, but the trust we’ve built with clients who rely on us to uncover the truth in the most challenging situations.

“This acquisition allows us to scale our impact, bringing our cutting-edge solutions to an even broader audience, while continuing to uphold the highest standards of integrity and precision,” McCarthy said.
