Australian government agencies that need PROTECTED level controls can now take advantage of several of the company’s key security solutions.
Global cyber security firm Rapid7 has announced the completion of an Information Security Registered Assessors Program assessment to the PROTECTED level for a suite of solutions within the company’s Rapid7 Insight Platform.
This means that Australian government agencies that require PROTECTED level security controls can now access solutions that cover detection and response, vulnerability management, application security, and automation and orchestration.
Rapid7’s Asia-Pacific and Japan vice president, Rob Dooley (pictured), said completing the assessment was an important step for the company.
“The successful completion of the IRAP assessment at the PROTECTED level demonstrates Rapid7’s commitment to supporting Australian government customers and providing access to a comprehensive security platform necessary to tackle the ever-evolving challenges of today’s cyber security landscape,” Dooley said in a statement.
“Rapid7 helps hundreds of government agencies worldwide effectively protect against security threats and quickly respond to breaches, which is why we are thrilled to support the ongoing protection of the Australian public sector.
“As more government agencies migrate to hybrid cloud environments, we can help them better manage the growing complexity of identifying and securing the attack surface. The timing of our assessment could not be better, especially as attackers are getting more sophisticated, better armed, and faster,” Dooley said.
The particular solutions that were assessed were InsightIDR, InsightVM, InsightAppSec, and InsightConnect.
The news comes off the back of Rapid7 announcing that it had signed a definitive agreement to acquire cyber asset attack surface management firm Noetic Cyber.
“Fragmented attack surface is stifling security productivity, efficiency, collaboration, and credibility,” Corey Thomas, CEO of Rapid7, said in a statement on the acquisition.
“The addition of Noetic’s solution to our platform positions Rapid7 to deliver the most productive security operations experience while making it more accessible to the teams who need it most.”
The deal is expected to close during Rapid7’s fiscal third quarter.
