Threat actors have claimed an attack on US tech multinational Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE).
Meow Leaks listed the company on its dark web leak site, claiming to have exfiltrated confidential data and has now listed access to it for only US$199.
“We are excited to offer you an incredible opportunity to access a confidential database from Hewlett Packard Enterprise. This exclusive data set includes is available for only $199,” said Meow Leaks.
“Don’t miss out on this unique chance to access confidential data from Hewlett Packard Enterprise at an affordable price.”
Outside of offering the data as an “exclusive offer”, the threat group did not specify what data it claims was exfiltrated.
At the time of writing, Cyber Daily has been unable to verify the legitimacy of the incident.
HPE is also yet to publicly acknowledge the incident.
Meow Leaks is a relatively young threat group, first seen in late 2023. The group uses a variant of the Conti malware strain and has a history of conducting ransomware operations, although the HP incident seems not to be.
Prices for the data it sells vary greatly. Other victims have price tags of $400, $200 and, in the case of First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union, $100,000.
Cyber Daily will update this story as more information becomes known.
