A pro-Palestinian hacking group has claimed to have exfiltrated data from a number of Israeli politicians.
The hacktivist group Handala Hack posted on its website on 26 September, claiming to have two password-protected archives containing over 60,000 secret emails belonging to Gabriel “Gabi” Ashkenazi, former Israeli minister of foreign affairs and former Chief of General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces.
“This data is only a small part of our data lake about Gabi Ashkenazi,” the group said.
“Are the current officials and ministries of the fake Zionist regime safe? Never!!!
“Be afraid of your shadow.”

Alongside the listing, the threat group posted a number of private photos of Ashkenazi to back its claims.
The leak comes just days after the group claimed to have emails belonging to former Israeli defence minister and retired army general Benny Gantz.
Gantz quit the Israeli emergency government back in June in what seems to be the result of growing internal disagreements regarding Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plans for Gaza after the war, according to the BBC as seen by CyberNews.
In a similar post just days before (23 September), Handala Hack posted what it claimed to be 35,000 private emails belonging to Gantz.
The day after, Handala posted another archive which it claims contains 2,000 photos of Gantz.
“In recent days, we found out that Benny Gantz has made many confidential and destructive meetings at his office,” Handala Hack said.
“We have been with this former defense minister of the Zionist regime for many years! To warn him, we publish only a small part of the data we have about him!”
