Threat actors claim to have exfiltrated data from the Australian Seventh-day Adventist ministry, Steps To Life.
Steps To Life advertises itself as a “special ministry”, establishing itself as a television recording studio “specialising in the production of high-quality, Christ-centred television programs and DVDs, proclaiming the gospel as pertinent to the world living in the end time of biblical prophetic history”.
On 2 December, a threat actor by the name “nor” posted to a popular hacking forum, claiming to have stolen over 130,000 lines of data from Steps To Life.
Additionally, the threat actor posted a sample of the stolen data, which allegedly contains full names, email addresses, fax, password, registered data, credit, level, company, multiple addresses, city, state, country, postcode, and other points, including “opt out”, “checkout flag” and more.
Based on analysis of the data, many of these data points are included, but Cyber Daily was unable to verify if passwords were listed in the sample. However, Cyber Daily can verify that at least some of the data is legitimate.
Additionally, the sample data includes full email transcripts from members of Steps To Life to the ministry, largely talking about the DVDs and the teachings of the lord.
Nor has listed the data for sale.
Cyber Daily has reached out to Steps To Life for more information.
