APAC quantum security lead to discuss the future of cyber security at upcoming summit

Cyber professionals to be shown how the latest advancements in cyber security will impact the wider industry as Alexey Bocharnikov is announced as a panelist at the Australian Cyber Summit 2025.

Currently in its third year, the Australian Cyber Summit 2025 features a jam-packed agenda to arm attendees with the tools and insights needed to navigate the ever-evolving cyber security landscape.

The Australian Cyber Summit 2025 welcomes leading quantum security expert, Alexey Bocharnikov as a panelist to discuss the future of cyber security.

Bocharnikov is joined by a stellar speaker lineup including Sam Mackay, Chief Information Security Officer at NSW Department of Customer Service, and Dr Sherif Abuadbba, Team Leader of Distributed Systems Security at CSIRO's Data61, among others.

With over 15 years of expertise in cyber security strategy, risk management, quantum risk, and cryptography, Bocharnikov is the Asia Pacific Regional Leader for Quantum Security and Director at Accenture.

In his role at Accenture, Bocharnikov leads quantum security efforts across APAC and directs cyber strategy for ANZ.

He is also a prominent advocate for best practice and proactive risk management, and will draw on his extensive background in cyber security and quantum security to share insights on the sector’s future at the Australian Cyber Summit 2025.

Prior to his current role, Bocharnikov held positions at other major corporations such as EY and Deutsche Bank where he contributed to EY’s Global Innovation Quantum Technology Lab, spearheading global quantum security initiatives, as well as serving as Country Information Security Officer in Deutsche Bank’s Moscow branch.

At the summit, Bocharnikov will be joined by other panelists to explore the future of cyber security through the lens of emerging technologies, advanced threats, and evolving defence strategies.

He will discuss how advances in AI, quantum computing, autonomous systems, and other disruptive technologies will redefine cyber threats and defence mechanisms, as well as explore how government, defence, and industry can future-proof ahead of these advancements.

The summit will feature a range of ground-breaking sessions to analyse the most pressing cyber threats, unpack the latest innovations, and assess how the Commonwealth is strengthening Australia’s cyber defences.
