Cyber security firm Rapid7 has released a new enterprise-grade detection and response service, Managed Detection & Response (MDR) for Enterprise.

The new service is designed to meet the needs of distributed and complex digital environments with a mix of legacy, cloud, and on-premises environments.

MDR for Enterprise features tailored detection and response integrated with Rapid7’s global security operations centre, as well as deep collaboration and customisation options.

The service also includes custom event source integration, custom detections tailored to specific tools within an enterprise, tailored threat monitoring, and shared workflows to eliminate handoffs between internal teams.

“Today, large security teams demand more than a standard approach to detection and response. They’re looking for the confidence to move faster, respond smarter, and defend deeper,” Craig Adams, chief product officer at Rapid7, said in a statement.

“With MDR for Enterprise, we’re delivering broad visibility and coverage with the deep customisation and operational partnership.”

Craig Robinson, research vice president for security services at IDC, said the need to balance internal detections with proprietary systems and workflows was becoming increasingly essential.

“Organisations that are shifting to this style of partnership model, like Rapid7’s MDR for Enterprise, are doing so to keep pace with evolving threats and continually distributed infrastructure,” Robinson said.
