Cyber security company Proofpoint unveiled a list of authorised distributors across the Asia Pacific region following a comprehensive review of the company’s partnerships system.
Ingram Micro has been approved to operate as an authorised distributor in Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand. Meanwhile, M.Tech gained the status in to operate in Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Taiwan and Australia. Further, ITSDI gained partnership approval for the Philippines.
According to the company, the providers join a cutting-edge cyber security company trusted by over half of the Fortune 1000 companies.
Johann Ramchandra, senior director of APJ channel sales at Proofpoint, explained that the distribution strategy will help grow the company’s Asia-Pacific offering.
“Proofpoint is committed to its 100 per cent channel go-to market strategy, and we’re excited to build out a two-tiered distribution model to fuel our growth across the Asia-Pacific theatre, expanding to new markets against growing demand for our market-leading solutions,” Ramchandra said.
“We are continuing to develop and launch innovative products and improve and simplify our processes. We believe this will help to expand our ecosystem’s reach and allow our channel partners to grow their Proofpoint business profitably.”
Alex Lei, senior vice president, APJ at Proofpoint, explained how remote working during the pandemic expanded the attack surface for threat actors.
“The shift to remote working has accelerated digital transformation and the move to the cloud, expanding the attack surface for enterprises. Today, cyber criminals increasingly target people within organisations rather than systems or infrastructure. This requires a mind shift from IT security teams to take a people-centric approach to cyber security to combat threats effectively,” Lei said.
“Proofpoint integrates a people-centric view into its security platform to easily identify vulnerable users. This tailored approach allows us to deliver first-class protection to address the needs of enterprises that are facing a fast-evolving threat landscape.”
Francis Choo, global partner engagement and cyber security APAC at Ingram Micro, said, “One key lesson of the past 18 months to the organisation’s security and IT teams is their readiness for digital adoption and security readiness in times of uncertainties. Having the addition of Proofpoint to our diverse portfolio of cyber security solutions and services greatly adds on the value Ingram Micro can bring to our channel partners and their customers. We are excited to work with Proofpoint and support them in their expansion to new markets and growth strategy across APAC.”
Stanley Foo, chief executive at M.Tech, said, “Proofpoint’s distinct people-centric approach to cybersecurity brings to users unparalleled protection against evolving cyber threats. Not only do they always stay at the forefront of the industry with their innovation, Proofpoint is recognised by experts in the field. We are tremendously thrilled to be once again appointed as their strategic and valued distributor, bringing their trusted and solid solutions to reach an even wider audience in the APAC region.”
Luichi Robles, president of ITSDI, said, “With the increasing demands of cybersecurity and rapid transition to cloud data management, ITSDI continues to expand its portfolio to fully serve its clients. In our efforts to make cybersecurity easy, we have partnered with Proofpoint to protect more companies from threats in the ever-changing landscape of cyber security.”
