ParaFlare has appointed a new chair of the board, replacing David Wakeley.
Major General (Ret’d) Dr Marcus Thompson has been appointed chair of the board of ParaFlare, it has been revealed.
MAJGEN (Ret’d) Thompson was the inaugural head of the Australian Defence Force’s Information Warfare Division and has spent two years working with the company as a strategy adviser.
David Wakeley will continue on the board as a non-executive director.
“I’ve worked with Marcus for a number of years, and we are incredibly fortunate to secure his leadership at a time when cyber security is front-of-mind for many businesses, and has the potential to impact our national security,” Wakeley said of the appointment.
“I look forward to working with Marcus and seeing how his experience will shape ParaFlare — Australia’s largest managed detection and response business.”
MAJGEN (Ret’d) Thompson expressed his gratitude for the appointment.
“ParaFlare is a human cyber capability with some of the best cyber operators I’ve seen. I’m proud to work with such talented people, in a truly Australian organisation that was built on skills developed on the battlefield,” he said.
“Any Australian businesses or organisation going to market to find a cyber security provider should be looking in their own backyard and supporting the growth of our local industry. If you’re looking for a security partner to protect your network from cyber criminals around the clock, look no further than ParaFlare.”
