AustCyber, with the support of the federal government, has announced the launch of its latest project — the AustCyber Innovation Network.
The new network is aimed at a whole-of-Australia approach to building communities in the industry, promoting innovation, and providing a “unique collaborative platform” to industry stakeholders.
At the heart of the AustCyber Innovation Network will be its ambassadors, who will be responsible for “building a vibrant and connected cyber security ecosystem” and promoting the network’s products and services.
The network will also take advantage of AustCyber’s connections to the Stone & Chalk Group.
“Growth of our domestic cyber security capabilities is imperative for the future competitiveness and sustainability of our industries and economy, not to mention national security and resilience,” said Michael Bromley, chief executive at AustCyber, in an announcement. “We are working closely with governments, industry, and communities as we usher in the AustCyber Innovation Network.”
Clare O’Neil, Minister for Cyber Security and Home Affairs, praises AustCyber’s work in the sector.
“I commend the ongoing work of AustCyber and Stone & Chalk in promoting Australia’s domestic cyber industry and the launch of the AustCyber Innovation Network,” Minister O’Neil said in the same announcement.
“In order to meet our goal of being the most cyber secure nation by 2030, new and innovative cyber security solutions will be paramount.”
Jason Murrell, group executive at AustCyber, is similarly sanguine.
“Our expanding national footprint will increase accessibility for under-served and under-represented regions and groups,” Murrell said. “Through the AustCyber Innovation Network, we are committed to providing unwavering support to the cyber security needs of all, including start-ups, scale-ups, corporations, and government.”
The announcement comes just months after the federal government released its 2023–2030 Australian Cyber Security Strategy Discussion Paper, which aims to make Australia the most cyber secure country in the world by 2030.
