As industries embrace the fourth industrial revolution and criminals find more innovative ways to penetrate critical systems, now is the time to develop a skilled workforce fit to fight cyber crime.

This session will address talent shortage and diversity issues within the cyber security industry as our speakers unpack the unique opportunities for talent diversification in the sector.

Hear from Australian leaders in security as they unpack their plans to promote growth and retention of women and Indigenous Australians and to create an industry that appeals to and nurtures the next generation of leaders.

In this panel, we will discuss:

  • Why diversity in cyber security is critical.
  • How you can build an effective information security team.
  • How you can retool and upskill your security team.
  • How we can work as an industry to create and promote an industry that appeals to the next generation.
  • How you can get involved in giving back to the cyber security community.

Our expert panellists are Daniela Fernandez, head of information security at PayPal Australia; Shradha Angrish, student at the University of Adelaide; Gabe Marzano, director of CyberFit Nation at Palo Alto Networks; and Ben Doyle, chief information security officer at Thales Australia and New Zealand.
