The Australian Signals Directorate has unveiled the theme of this year’s Cyber Security Awareness month, alongside a raft of advice for Australian businesses navigating their cyber security journey.
We’re well and truly in October, which means it is Cyber Security Awareness Month at the just relaunched Cyber Daily!
This year’s theme, as unveiled recently by the Australian Signals Directorate, is “Be cyber wise – don’t compromise.”
Over the next four weeks, Cyber Daily will produce advice from the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) and a series of videos from the Australian Federal Police talking about how Australians can protect themselves, their businesses, and their families from a raft of cyber threats.
According to the ACSC: “Our latest Annual Threat Report found that during the 2021–22 financial year, one cyber crime was reported to us every seven minutes, a 13 per cent increase from the previous financial year.”
But you don’t need to see statistics like that to understand that the threat landscape is broad and constantly evolving. Australian businesses are being targeted like never before, but there are steps we can all take to secure our data, finances, and personal information.
On top of our advice, and that of some of Australia’s peak cyber security agencies, our partners – DotSec, ALC Training, Interactive, and Arctic Wolf, to name just a few – will offer up their expertise across a wide range of topics relevant to the challenges facing businesses today.
So keep an eye on www.cyberdaily.au or sign up to our newsletter for all the day’s news right in your inbox.
Stay safe, Australia!
